Ireland will be hit with "thundery downpours" this afternoon despite a bright and sunny start to the day.
Although temperatures will reach a warm 17C later today, Met Eireann has warned we'll see more "persistent rain" as the weather remains unsettled this week.
A forecaster said: "Sunny spells and scattered showers today with a few thundery downpours possible this afternoon.
"The best of the sunshine is expected along northern and eastern coasts. Maximum temperatures of 14C to 17C in moderate northerly breezes."
Meanwhile, Tuesday will see a good deal of dry weather with sunny spells and just a few showers.
However, cloud will thicken across the eastern half of the country during the afternoon with rain developing along the southeast coast in the evening. Highest temperatures of 14C to 17C in fresh northerly winds.

Speaking about the outlook for this week, a forecaster revealed: "Relatively cool and showery with persistent rain at times."
Wednesday looks gloomy with cloudy conditions and outbreaks of rain. Some brighter periods are likely at times in the west and northwest.
Highest temperatures of 12C to 15C in fresh northerly winds. Further spells of rain overnight with minimum temperatures 8C to 11C.
Thursday will start off cloudy with patchy rain with a few sunny spells in the afternoon.
However, there will be a risk of heavy showers also.
Highest daytime temperatures will reach 14C to 17C.
There will be a mix of clear spells and showers overnight with lows of 6C to 9C.
