Ireland looks set to enjoy a stunning week of sunshine.

Forecasters are predicting a dry and settled few days for the Emerald Isle, which will mostly see temperatures hover around 21C.

Discussing the forecast, a Met Eireann spokesman said: "A good deal of cloud this morning, with scattered showers, but it will brighten up later this afternoon, with most of the scattered showers becoming confined to the north and northwest.

"Breezy, with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds, strong along western and northern coasts. Cooler and fresher than recent days. Maximum temperatures 16 to 20 Celsius.

"Tomorrow morning will be cloudy in many areas, with scattered showers, mainly in the north and east. Becoming brighter and mostly dry during the day, with sunny spells. Maximum temperatures 15 to 21 degrees, coolest in the west and north, in mostly moderate northwesterly breezes, but winds will be strong at first along north and northwest coasts, gradually easing."
