Irish weather forecast: Dublin temperatures to hit 20C for Spice Girls' Croke Park gig

Dublin will be as hot as 20C when Spice Girls hit the stage at Croke Park.

Temperatures are expected to soar this weekend and the sun is to make an appearance just in time for the long waited concert.

It is to stay warm over the weekend but the rain will return as soon as the Spice Girls leave the stage.

Met Eireann said: “Mostly cloudy this afternoon and evening with just a little sunshine breaking through. It will stay largely dry with just a few scattered showers.”

Saturday will see patches of rain and drizzle with some sunny spells but temperatures are expected to remain at highs of 21C.

The forecaster said: “Rather cloudy at first on Saturday with patches of light rain or drizzle, mainly affecting the western half of the country. Cloud will start to break later in the morning with spells of sunshine for the afternoon and evening.”

Rain will then move in on Saturday night will is to clear up by Sunday morning.

They continued: “Rain clearing quickly into the Irish Sea on Sunday morning to leave a bright and breezy day with sunny spells and a few passing showers.”

Rain will make its return on Monday for the week with widespread showers with some “heavy and prolonged”.

Showers will continue on Tuesday but are expected to die down by Wednesday and some sun to reappear.

Temperatures for the beginning of next week will also cool off with temperatures to be down to 15C.
