Irish weather forecast: Dry and warm start to August with highs of 23C expected

August is getting off to a good start as Met Eireann predict warm and dry conditions with highs of 23C.

And the mercury is set to hit 24C tomorrow with a "lot of sunshine" expected.

A forecaster said: "Dry and warm again today with good sunshine at times but some cloudier periods also.

"A few light showers may develop during the afternoon and evening across Connacht and Ulster. Highs of 19C to 23C in light breezes."

Friday looks set to be a lovely day, dry and warm with a lot of sunshine and light breezes.

And festivalgoers heading to All Together Now will enjoy temperatures of 19C to 24C.

Heading into the weekend, we will see some cloudy weather and scattered outbreaks of showery rain across Munster which will gradually extend eastwards during the day.

Rain will tend to be patchy in the east of the country and some eastern places may remain dry for the whole day. Still warm with highs of 18C to 22C.

Sunday will see a mix of clouds and sunshine with with scattered showers at times.

Meanwhile, next week will be showery at times but it remain warm with highs of 19C to 23C.
