Ekin-Su and Davide win Love Island 2022 and are crowned winners of the €50,000 prize money as Gemma and Luca came second.

Indiyah and Dami came in third this evening as Tasha and Andrew ended up in fourth place.

Love Island has dominated TV screens across Ireland for the past eight weeks and tonight the nation's favourite dating show came to a close with an extended finale show.

Hosted by Laura Whitmore, the last installment of the season showed viewers what the final four couples - Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, Andrew Le Page and Tasha Ghouri, Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack, and Luca Bish and Gemma Owen - got up to in their final 24 hours in the villa.

The four lucky couples all found love in the famous Mallorca villa and will be hoping to make their relationships work on the outside world.

From rocky romances to becoming boyfriend and girlfriend the final four couples have experienced the expected highs and lows of the dating show.

Welsh paramedic Paige Thorne narrowly missed out on making it to the final after she and her partner, Adam Collard, were voted out by the public and voted as least compatible by some Islanders.

Irish viewers of the show have all been hailing Davide and Ekin-Su online following their win with one person writing: “That ended so suddenly, I want more Ekin-Su and Davide!”

A second person wrote: “On behalf of everyone in Ireland who cannot vote I would like to thank all in the UK for voting for Ekin Su and Davide. I fucking love them - screaming and crying.”

A third added: “Ekin su and davide so bloody chuffed for them both, my winners from the moment they coupled up.”
