Irish town bids farewell to Disney as Patrick Dempsey and other Disenchanted stars film final scenes

The fairytale is over for one Irish town after filming for an upcoming Disney movie came to an end.

Hollywood stars including Patrick Dempsey and Amy Adams have been shooting scenes for Disenchated in Enniskerry for the past few weeks.

The Wicklow town was transformed into a wonderland for the film, which is a sequel to the hugely popular 2007 flick Enchanted.

No expense was spared on the set in Enniskerry, with people travelling far and wide to take in the magical scenes.

Shopfronts were painted in bright colours and adorned with flowers and decorative features during filming, which began back in June.

But the dreamland is being replaced by reality today after the final scenes of the movie were shot in the town yesterday.

Gardai said that a car park made available especially to cater for Disenchanted tourists will no longer be in operation and the sets are being dismantled.

They said: "Last scene shot yesterday in Enniskerry.

"Farewell to Disney, farewell to lots of Goofy parking, to eating Minnie ice creams and to the Buzz of so many cars and to lots of happy memories for so many visitors.

"Sets will be dismantled today and the car park is no longer in operation."

Dempsey, Adams, Maya Rudolph and their other co-stars have been enjoying Ireland over the past month, taking time to explore all the Emerald Isle has to offer.

The public have been particularly enchanted with the McDreamy actor Dempsey, who has had nothing but praise for the country and its people.

Earlier this week, he unveiled a specially made suit from Dublin tailor Louis Copeland, saying the sharp attire was "worth the wait".

The Grey's Anatomy star expressed his admiration for the store to his 6.4 million Instagram followers in May after enjoying a VIP experience.

Dempsey has also been touring other Irish locations, such as Dalkey Island earlier this month where he visited the native goats and admired the gorgeous ruins.
