Hit-and-run victim Zac Higgins is another step closer to home after being transferred back to Cork University Hospital on Thursday .
The toddler was hit be a car almost eight weeks ago and had been in the care of Temple Street Hospital since.
After waking from an induced coma, the two-year-old from Mahon, Cork was diagnosed with a brain injury as well as a fractured hip.
Miraculously the brave tot is now starting to walk again and was well enough to be moved back to Cork University Hospital.

Zac’s parents Aishling and Paul have thanked the hospital staff for their care in getting him on the road to recovery.
Aishling said: “What a journey we have been on for the past 7 and a half weeks, it will still continue but now in CUH.
“I can’t thank the doctors, nursing staff, physios and occupational therapists in Temple Street Children’s Hospital enough.
“They go above and beyond for there patients everyday and everybody who works there the porters ,canteen staff, cleaners everyone has a kind word for the patients.
“Myself and Paul wouldn’t have got through it without them.
“We can’t thank them enough and Zac is where he is today because of them, we will be forever grateful.
“Zac has a very long road ahead of him but we have hope he will get there.”

Zac’s father Paul also thanked everyone who has been sending them well wishes throughout this very tough period.
Mr Higgins said: “Zac will come and go from hospital while we wait on Nation Rehabilitation Centre for a recovery programme.
“But every step is a step in right direction.
“Thanks to the incredible people of Cork who have helped us and continue to help us on this road.
“Thanks to our family and to my wife you have been absolutely amazing, Zac is a lucky boy.”
