Irish TikTok star Conor Cregan gives advice on how to go viral

Irish TikTok sensation Conor says that his number one advice would be not to care what people think of you.

Conor Cregan, a 26-year-old web designer from Dublin, latest video on TikTok has reached nearly 15 million views.

In just under a year, Conor has racked up over 17 million likes and over 500,000 followers on the video-sharing platform.

His most recent video shows Woody from Toy Story come to life before falling to the floor when he notices someone in the room.

Conor told the Irish Mirror where he took the inspiration for his video: “I think that every child has wondered if their toys really did come to life when they go to sleep.

“So it’s just like the movie Toy Story.”

Conor creates his videos with his brother Andrew: “We come up with our ideas together.

“Andrew is either off-screen pulling off the practical effects or dressing up as the scary monster while I feature in them and run the page.”

Conor and his brother started creating videos as a side project with their main objective of making people feel excited when they watched their videos: “To invoke the sense of wonder and excitement.

“That’s kind of the premise of all our videos that maybe it could be real.”

The two brothers have a wide audience range and try to cater to what they would get excited about: “The age range is wide.

“There is a very young audience as well.

“We create content that we ourselves want to watch and that we know our younger selves would get excited about.”

Although TikTok does not pay Conor and Andrew for their content, the brothers have set up a Patreon where people can subscribe and get exclusive tutorials and unseen clips.

Conor says that these subscriber videos are a look behind the camera on how they create their content: “they are posts of behind the scenes videos where we explain how they’re done.

“They’re accessible to everybody.”

Conor told the Irish Mirror that his biggest accomplishment was his collaboration video with Paramount Pictures: “I was selected by an agent in Los Angeles to do the promotional video for Paramount Pictures for a Quiet Place 2.”

“I was noticed from the video in the summer where the monster comes through the window.

After the success of the collaboration, Conor is looking to the future to see who else he can work with: “The company I’d want to collaborate with is Disney, especially after this video.

“But other than that there are a couple of things in the works.”

Conor says that he is planning to continue making more content for TikTok: “Yeah, my future plans do involve TikTok, which is just to keep growing and then see where it takes me.”

After huge success on the social media platform, Conor’s advice for people wanting to make their own content for TikTok is to not care about others: “Number one advice would be to not care what people think of you and I think that’s a big hurdle for a lot of people.”

As well as having Andrew by his side, Conor says that his family and friends are very supportive: “Oh they think it’s amazing, they can’t believe it.

“I think they’re just blown away by how many people have seen them and they think that it is such an achievement.”
