Irish teacher Lucy Lanigan-O'Keeffe set to marry Prince William's best friend

An Irish teacher is to marry Prince William’s best friend Thomas van Straubenzee.

Lucy Lanigan-O'Keeffe works at the school that is attended by Prince George.

The Sunday Times reports that Thomas proposed to the 31-year-old last week.

She is the assistant head teacher at George's school in Battersea, London and also teaches outdoor learning and mindfulness.

The Kilkenny native is a sister of Olympic pentathlete Arthur Lanigan-O'Keeffe.

Thomas owns his own property business and was previously married to Lady Melissa Percy but split in 2016.

Best friend Prince William is expected to be an usher at the ceremony with George and Charlotte also taking part.

Thomas’s brother Charlie is also a close friend of Prince Harry with the pair serving as ushers at the royal wedding last year.
