A woman who lost over five stone for her wedding said “it was a brilliant day" and that she "felt like a princess bride in my dream dress".
Bianca Young admitted that she would not have gotten married “when I was the weight I was”.
She started her weight loss journey in June 2019 and by her wedding day she had shed 5 stone and 4 lbs.

Over lockdown she made sure to walk every day and while she had to reschedule her wedding to David Boyle twice due to restrictions, she was over the moon to be in a dress that she would not have felt comfortable wearing before changing her lifestyle
“When I started, I was a size 18 to 20. I am now a size 10 to 12. It is not just about losing weight. I feel so much better in myself. I feel so healthy and full of energy.”
Bianca, from Blackrock, County Louth, knew that when lockdown lifted and she could go shopping for her wedding dress, she would feel comfortable trying on dresses.
“I found the dress in the first shop I went to. I fell in love with it straight away! It was the first one I tried on. My mother and sister cried when they saw it on me and I knew it was the dress for me.”
Now when she looks at her wedding photos, she said: “ I am very proud of myself. All my hard work paid off in the end.”
Bianca was 15 stone 13 pounds and is now 10 stone 9 pounds.
"There is no way I would have wanted to get married while weighing 15 stone and 13 pounds," she said.
“I joined Slimming World and began my weight loss journey and after my experience, I would recommend it to anyone else who wants to get healthy and lose weight.
“I felt like a Princess Bride on our special day, which was March 26.
"It was an amazing day with our family and close friends. Even having to reschedule it because of the pandemic, it was still worth the wait."
