Irish stars step out on red carpet for special screening of new Vicky Phelan documentary

Red carpets are back in full swing as Irish stars have spotted stepping out in style for Virgin Media Dublin International Film Festival.

Ray Darcy, Niall Breslin AKA ‘Bressie’ and Stephen Wall were among cinema goers spotted at Dublin's Lighthouse Cinema on Thursday evening for the special screening of new documentary Vicky.

In 2018 on the steps of The High Court, Vicky Phelan gave a now-infamous address where she exposed one of the worst women’s health scandals in Irish history, the cervical cancer debacle.

Sasha King’s Vicky follows the exclusive and intimate journey into Vicky Phelan’s fight to expose the truth of what happened in the Cervical Check Scandal for all women but also her own personal fight to stay alive.

Vicky was unable to make the event on the night.

Proud mum senator Lynn Ruane beamed later on as her daughter Jordanne Jones, who stars in new film You Are Not My Mother took to the red carpet for the film’s premiere screening at the venue.

Lynn Ruane said: "Mammy and Daddy as proud as punch.”

Stars of the film Hazel Doupe, Carolyn Bracken, Jade Jordan and Paul Reid also reunited on the red carpet while Kin star Clare Dunne was also spotted supporting the Irish cast and crew.

You Are Not My Mother is a creepy and unsettling psychological thriller deeply rooted in Irish folklore.

The highly-anticipated chiller, directed by Kate Dolan, debuted at Toronto International Film Festival to great acclaim.

Meanwhile, across the pond, the stars of Peaky Blinders stepped out for the premiere of the show's sixth season at Cineworld, in Birmingham, on Thursday night.

Irish actress Charlene McKenna stunned in yellow as she joined her cast members on the red carpet to celebrate the final season of the popular drama.

The Captain Swing actress, 37, turned heads as she posed up a storm in the stunning Irish design by R U E D I.
