Irish stars celebrate Father's Day with heart warming messages and snaps

Irish celebrities share posts and touching messages to celebrate Father’s Day.

Ireland’s biggest names in showbiz took to social media yesterday to post pictures and messages as a tribute for Father’s Day.

Some posted messages for their own fathers as other used the day to give love to the new dads in their lives.

Vogue Williams posted an adorable snap of her husband Spencer Matthews on his first Father’s Day with baby Theodore.

She said: “Happy 1st Father’s Day @spencermatthews. The smile on Theodores face is just one example of why you are an amazing Daddy to him. The last 9 months have been the best of our lives and you have truly shone in your new role. Here is to many more with hopefully a few more Pigly’s. We love you.”

Rosanna Davison took to Instagram to show her love for dad Chris de Burgh with the caption: “Happy Father’s Day to the sweetest, funniest, kindest dad... we have so many more family memories yet to make. Love you so much x.”

RTE radio host Jennifer Zamparelli posted a heartwarming video of her husband Lau and their daughter Florence saying: “Here’s one of the reasons why you’re a great Dad. Always there to catch us when we fall.”

Fair City star Aoibhin Garrihy posted for partner John Burke on his first Father’s Day while sister Doireann shared a snap of the pair’s dad Eugene.

Aoibhin said: “When he stopped in Gort to pick up “something small” he spotted for the baba, while we were on route home from the hospital with her, I thought he was mad..

"And he is...he’s absolutely mad about that baba and the greatest Dad we could have ever wished for. Happy First Father’s Day @johnjohnburke"

Doireann added: “I know I’m bias, but I’m confident he’s the best there ever was. Happy Fathers Day Euge!”

The day can be tough for some however as Westlife’s Nicky Byrne posted a memorial for his late father.

He said: “Wherever you are Dad..Happy Daddy’s Day and Thank you Ledge RIP."
