Irish shop sealed off after alleged 'bloodbath stabbing'

An Irish shop has been sealed off by gardai after an alleged incident in the store where a person was stabbed.

The alleged incident happened in a shop in Galway city centre on Thursday afternoon, at around 2pm.

According to reports, multiple people ran into the store, where they were then followed by another group.

It is understood that a person was stabbed inside the store multiple times with a source saying the scene was a "bloodbath" afterwards.

Gardai are currently making enquiries into the incident.

A gardai spokesperson told Galway Beo: "Gardaí are making enquiries into an alleged incident which occurred on Shop Street in Galway on Thursday afternoon, 20th October 2022 at approximately 2pm."
