Irish school respond after video of violent classroom fight spreads online

An Irish secondary chool have said that no teacher was involved in a classroom fight which has been shared widely on social media.

Footage alleged to have been taken at a school in the Leinster region shows two people involved in a scuffle with one then violently slammed to the ground.

Rumours online had suggested a teacher had been the one slammed to the ground but the school this morning said that was not the case. Instead a student is being dealt with internally.

A spokesperson for the school said: "The school is aware of a video being shared on social media of an incident that occurred earlier this week.

"For clarification, no teacher was involved in the incident.

"The incident has been dealt with in line with the school's code of behaviour."
