A popular Irish restaurant has hit back at criticism from an unhappy parent who left a negative review over the absence of a childrens menu.
The mother said it was "madness" that the Cork eatery didn't offer a kids menu, and left a one-star review despite not actually dining in the restaurant.
She said she and her family chose not to eat in Luigi's at La Bella Roma in Youghal as "they don't do any kids meals. At all".
The woman added: "You have to order your child an adults meal here. Madness."
Luigi's at La Bella Roma replied to the review by addressing the parent as 'Karen', a term often used to describe someone as entitled or overly demanding.
As Cork Beo reports, he wrote: "Dear Karen Thanks for your review, we never had a kids menu since our menu has plenty of choices for kids like pizza and pasta.
"It is our goal to give our customers and especially the young ones the best products available that is why there is no kids menu including chicken nuggets, sausages or burgers for kids.
"If parents want to poison their kids with badly processed food they can do it elsewhere, plenty of choices around.
"But please do not ask us to do it for you it is not right. We had plenty of happy families and kids in our premises who were happy to share a pizza or pasta with their children and it's never been an issue."
The business also took aim at the woman stating that her partner "spent €15 on beer but was kind of upset he had to spend €9.50 on a pizza to share".
"I do believe I remember your table, your partner spent 15 euros on beer but was kind of upset he had to spend 9.50 for a pizza to share, what a strange world we live in," the restaurant said.
"Regards Luigi".
Luigi's at La Bella Roma in Youghal has a 4.5 rating on TripAdvisor and is listed as the fifth most popular restaurant in the Cork town.
