Irish rally driver Craig Breen dies in testing crash

Irish rally driver Craig Breen has died following a crash during testing in Croatia.

The World Rally Championship driver was preparing to take part in next week's Rally Croatia. He was completing a test with co-driver James Fulton when their Hyundai Motorsport car crashed at around 11am Irish time.

The team confirmed that the 33-year-old died due to injuries sustained in the crash. Fulton was unharmed in the incident.

"Hyundai Motorsport sends its sincerest condolences to Craig's family, friends and his many fans," a statement said.

The World Rally Championship acknowledged Craig's death in a statement, and they passed on their condolences to Craig's family in their tribute.

They wrote: "The WRC family is shocked and saddened to learn of Craig Breen's passing. Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends of Craig at this incredibly sad time."
