Irish punter wins over €7,000 off a €20 bet on four horses

A Dubliner is over €7,000 richer after an inspired flutter on the horses.

The anonymous backer placed their wager in the capital on Wednesday, picking four horses at Worcester and throwing them into €1 Lucky 15 and a €2.50 each-way accumulator.

The appropriately named Really Super started the ball rolling with a win in the 6.00 at 4/1, before 10/1 pick The Accountant and Teeton Power (7/2) followed up in the 7.00 and 7.30.

That left a nervous wait for the 8.00 where 11/2 selection Damut I'm Out was backed into 4/1 favourite before delivering the goods by 1½ lengths.

That triggered the celebrations in Dublin as it allowed the lucky punter to return to the shop and collect a tidy total of €7,061.53 all for a stake of €20.

Boylesports' Lawrence Lyons said: "We must send a firm pat on the back to our Dublin customer who took only a couple of hours to go from €20 to over €7,000. It was a fine piece of work and we hope the winnings go towards something nice."
