One Irish punter is over €600,000 richer after landing an incredible football bet last weekend.
The Galway man placed four separate accumulator bets costing a total of €50 at a Ladbrokes shop.
Ranging from matches in England to Brazil, he needed a staggering 22 or 23 results in each bet to correctly go his way, with a mixture of victories, both teams scoring and under 3.5 goals in the game.
But incredibly it all came down to a match between Sevilla and Alaves in Spain's La Liga.
Sevilla attacker Alejandro 'Papu' Gomez's 92nd minute winner saw the Galway man scoop a life-changing €602,054.
The lucky punter casked out one accumulator for €102,000 with the rest left to ride it out until full-time, however, had the customer let all four bets run he could've seen an extra €65,000 in his bank account.
Ladbrokes' Jessica O'Reilly said: "Talk about luck of the Irish. Needing over 20 teams' results to go your way is no mean feat and we can only doff our cap to our plucky punter who is over half a million euros richer thanks to a dramatic winner in the 92nd minute by Papu Gomez."
