An Irish punter whose incredible football accumulator was let down by Arsenal last weekend has been given a €11,400 goodwill payout.
Ryan Callahan's Saturday took a dramatic turn when his €5 bet on 21 different matches started to look better and better.
But there was agony in the end for Callahan when Arsenal were the only team to let him down.
The Gunners' 1-1 draw with Burnley, including a calamitous error from Granit Xhaka, had seemingly cost the punter a huge win.
Callahan told Off The Ball: "The bet was something small to spice up my Saturday.
"Looking back on the Arsenal match again it was sore viewing. I couldn't believe it when the the VAR decision went against me. It definitely took a few days to get over it."
All was not lost, though, as Paddy Power decided to take pity on Ryan and pay him out in full - €11,400 - despite Arsenal letting him down.
Spokesperson Paddy Power said; "It was an unbelievable bet that deserved more than a dodgy ref call and some sloppy Arsenal finishing.
"Granit Xhaka's woeful mistake cost Mikel Arteta's side three points, but we couldn't let it cost Ryan more than €11k."
