One Irish punter landed astonishing odds for a winning horse after He Knows No Fear made horse racing history today.
The outsider stormed home from well off the pace under Chris Hayes, collaring hot favourite Agitare on the line, in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at Leopardstown today.
The 300/1 shot pulled off perhaps the biggest shock in UK and Irish horse racing with the win.
And Mark Scanlon managed to back the Luke Comer-trained horse at a stunning 500/1 with Paddy Power - putting a €2.50 each way bet on the unlikely winner.
Announcing he'd won an eye-watering €1,505, the lucky punter claimed he threw the pocket change on the winner after seeing jockey Hayes winning on a similar outsider in recent weeks.
Spokesman for bookmakers Coral, John Hill, said: “He Knows No Fear lived up to his name at Leopardstown, causing the biggest shock in the history of UK and Irish racing.
“The previous record was set 30 years ago at Kelso and that came over jumps.
