Irish pubs update: Warning that Covid Cert may not allow you dine indoors straight away

People who are not considered fully vaccinated may not be granted access to indoor dining even if they've received their certs.

Many of those who have gotten the jab were sent an EU Digital Covid Cert within days but found when scanned at pubs or restaurants it didn't give them the green light.

That's because people are supposed to wait the recommended amount of time after their second dose or first dose of the Janssen jab to be considered fully vaccinated.

One man who ran into this issue tweeted a word of warning, he said: "A word of warning in relation to the #Covidcert I went for a few drinks last Wednesday and my cert was scanned at the door. Technically I wasn't full vaccinated until today (14 days after last jab) and the scanner picked it up and said I was not fully vaccinated. Be aware."

So when are you considered fully-vaccinated? Here's the handy guide;

The HSE's handy guide to being 'fully vaccinated' (HSE)

Pfiizer

AstraZeneca

You are fully vaccinated if you've received an AstraZeneca vaccine two weeks after getting your second dose.

Janssen

You are fully vaccinated if you've received a Janssen vaccine two weeks after getting your dose.
