Restaurateur Jay Bourke, who is involved with Berlin D2, said he is "absolutely mortified" at the scenes recorded at the venue this week.
Speaking to RTE News Mr Bourke said that while he was embarrassed by the footage which has caused outrage but said he was satisfied it was a “rogue incident” during a four hour event.
He added he does not think the videos are a full reflection of what happened describing it as “20 seconds of madness.”
“I have reviewed the CCTV footage and I am happy in general that what was going on was ok. There was a rogue incident, and I am not happy about that, and that is our responsibility,” he said.
Bourke also hit out people using social media 'trying to execute justice' as he claimed that his staff had received death threats as a result.
"I am not going to ask people to work when their lives are being threatened."
Footage emerged of a masked barman pouring alcohol into the mouths of revellers dancing to a DJ on Saturday at the venue on Dame Lane.
One man who left the bar said he and his wife left because they were “scared” for their safety.
He said: “Honestly at the beginning, it was very quiet, from 3pm to 4pm.
“But the atmosphere started to be crazy, so we decided to leave with my wife when the situation [went] mad.
“Yes, some food was served.
“Honestly I don’t know the number of people but all the tables were full.
“We left because we disagreed with the situation (no social distancing) and I was scared for our safety about Covid, so we preferred to leave this bar and never come back, ever.”
It’s understood Berlin D2 is to remain closed until an internal investigation is completed.
The premises did not respond to requests for comment from Dublin Live.
