Locals have blasted a big outdoor crowd who turned their village into "Temple Bar" over the weekend as the street was littered with drink and food.
Save Malahide took to Facebook telling residents that this was a "wake up call" of what was to come when pubs and restaurants reopen this week.
Locals thronged the street over the weekend as they drank and carelessly flung away plastic pint glasses and takeaway boxes from nearby businesses.
The local Facebook group said: "We are so sad as we look on Sunday at New Street and the events of Saturday night.
"Saturday evening started with people openly drinking alcohol on the street, takeaway boxes thrown on the ground and peaked with the vandalism of the delineation barriers.
"This must be a wake up call to everyone with pubs not yet even open. What is our village going to become? Temple Bar?"
In the city, access to South William Street was restricted for a short time on Saturday night over public health concerns.
Pearse Street and Public Order Unit officers shut off the area after large groups of people were spotted meeting and socialising on the street.
A spokesman said: "Gardaí are continuing high visibility patrols as we continue to engage, encourage, explain and, as a last resort, enforce, in support of public health guidelines."
