A famous south Dublin pub once rumoured to have served iconic music legend Bob Dylan while he was being entertained by The Dubliners is set to be torn down to make way for a hotel.
The now vacant Embankment pub on Blessington Road is set to be replaced by a 129-room hotel and three aparthotels.
Plans for the development have been lodged to South Dublin County Council which would see another historic piece of old Dublin gone forever just days after The O'Rahilly was also brought to the ground.
The boozer has been unused for well over 20 years but was famed for its music sessions - among other sessions - with Luke Kelly and The Dubliners regular players at the haunt.
While the Bob Dylan line still remains a mystery to this day, the story goes that he went to the pub for a quick one but stayed because he was enthralled by the young Dublin trad band.

The planning application has been put forward by Mardivale Limited who are part of the McGettigan family company.
They intend to knock the original pub to the floor and build it up again to create the three-storey hotel with three-storey aparthotels on the site also.
A decision on the application is set to be made on November 5 by the SDCC.
