Irish pubs: Famous Dublin bar and restaurant furious as 'aggressive man' smashes window when told to stop begging

A famous Dublin bar and restaurant has been left furious after who they describe as an "aggressive beggar" smashed their front window because he was told to stop asking for money outside their establishment.

As well as dealing with the ongoing problems caused by the pandemic for businesses reopening in Dublin, Oscars Bar in Smithfield now must fork out more money to fix the broken glass following the frightening attack on its restaurant.

They said that the man had become angry after they urged him to stop begging outside their building last week.

Staff said that the man warned that he would "smash the windows" when spoken to by members of the restaurant.

He followed up on his threat today when staff arrived at work to see tiny particles of glass scattered everywhere following the attack.

In happier times, the popular bar made headlines when they created a hilarious 'social distancing plan' ahead of reopening their doors weeks ago.

They unveiled a new foolproof idea to make sure two-metres is kept between customers at all times.

Called the very catchy 'corona cootie cone', the bar has placed the shiny orange cone on every second table in the restaurant.

The cone is put on top of a sheet which says "corona cootie cones. Please do not use this table".

The pub joked on its page: "We will be dusting off our cootie cones in a few weeks to ensure social distancing is maintained."
