Irish pubs: Customers react to Conor McGregor's new bar after grand opening

The Black Forge, Conor McGregor's new pub, has seen huge interest since its reopening over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

The Crumlin pub that McGregor is rumoured to have spent over €1 million on remodelling was booked out throughout its first weekend.

The Black Forge Inn shared a picture on its Instagram page, where three staff members commented that they had an "incredible" first day of service.

But what do the UFC fighter's customers really make of his revamped pub?

Most people seemed to have enjoyed the food and said the staff were very accommodating.

One customer said: “All newly modernised great food reasonably prized nice atmosphere…”

Another commented on how much she loved the renovations made to the pub.

She added: “It’s been a lonnnng time since we came I am blown away by the fabulous job renovating this watering hole.

“Meeting our pitch & putt pals after such a long time is amazing! The very best of luck to Conor and wishing Liam and the team every success.”

Another said: “If you haven't being there get there 10 out of 10 for food and the staff are amazing”.

McGregor's pub also gathered good reviews from tourists that visited over the past few days.

One person commented: “Came from providence, Rhode Island, USA….Fantastic and accommodating staff.

“The food was delicious!!! Manager Liam is above and beyond, Ava was our amazing waitress!!! Clean and inviting environment. Tastefully done!!!”

Unfortunately, not everyone seemed to have the same experience while dining at The Black Forge.

One customer said: “The server took our order and never came back to see how things were until I asked for check (sic)...We had high expectations we came along way for vacation. $40 Rt on a taxi and $60 Food bill. Bad experience.”

Another unhappy customer said: "Service...dropped food off and didn't see her until flagging down for the bill..

“Wife's expensive steak was burnt on the outside before it came out for her to cook on a hot stone...

“Cool idea except beef was tough and the stone smoked so bad it effected other guesses. I had to grab another service member to have it removed after meat was cooked.”
