Irish pubs closed: Popular pub Toners forced to close after positive Covid test

A popular Dublin pub has been forced to close after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19.

Toners Pub on Baggot Street confirmed the news this morning with a short statement on social media.

They said they hoped to be able to reopen in a few days.

The message read: "Dear Customers,

"Owing to a member of staff testing positive for Covid-19, we will be closed for a short while.

"We are working with the HSE and expect to reopen in a couple of days.

"Thank you for your support and stay safe."

Happy customers replied with their messages of support for the iconic venue.

One said: "Hope your staff member recovers soon. Was in on Thursday, great set-up, very safe."

Another wrote: "So sorry to hear this news. Everyone stay safe and well."
