Irish pubs closed: Popular Dublin bar so iconic that couple decided to have wedding afters there

An iconic Dublin pub gave a big shoutout to a couple who booked the bar for their wedding afters.

Peadar Browns on Clanbrassil Street was delighted that the pair chose the popular pub to celebrate their big day in August.

Speaking on the pub's Facebook page, owner Aidan Brown also thanked customers who dropped in over the last few weeks for their support.

He said: "Closed for today and tomorrow folks, it's been a bit of a struggle this week but we must carry on regardless.

"Thanks again to everyone who dropped in these last few weeks to support us and a big shoutout to the lovely couple who have provisionally booked in their wedding afters with us in August."

Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan announced today that indoor dining may not return until August.

Speaking before the Cabinet meeting this morning, he also said that the government will be looking at health data from the UK before making any decisions.

He said: "We’re going to get everyone vaccinated, back dining, able to socialise – it will just take a bit of time."

He said there would be no huge changes and restrictions will be eased "step-by-step".
