It is St Patrick’s Day, as even Google have noticed. As well as noting the life of Ireland’s patron saint, many aspects of Irish culture will be celebrated today, not just in Ireland, but across the world. And even beyond:

With impeccable timing, the Irish Times have produced a shortlist of the ten best Irish pubs in the world (outside Ireland). Entrants were asked to judge on critera such as the pub’s role in supporting Irish emigrants, its commitment to Irish food, and the crucial if difficult to define “craic factor”.
We’d love to see your own Irish locals, wherever you are in the world, and regardless of your nationality. Perhaps you run an Irish pub in Thailand, or prop up the bar of your beloved Irish local in exotic north London. Whatever the pub, and whatever the story, you can get in touch via GuardianWitness.
