Staff at and Irish pub were left stunned after receiving an incredible tip from a generous customer.
Kildare’s Irish Pub in West Chester, Pennsylvania, has suffered throughout the coronavirus pandemic just like countless other restaurants and bars across the globe.
Shutdowns and restrictions have left the hospitality industry struggling, but Kildare's has managed to reopen recently with social distancing and other safety restrictions in place.
And their staff were left "speechless" after one customer left a whopping $966.79 tip in appreciation of their hard work.
The anonymous customer also left a heartfelt message spurring staff on throughout these difficult times.
The visitor known only as “Mike” spent just $33.21 on their meal and drinks but decided to leave an even $1,000 dollars.
And the note accompanying the tip read: "Hang in there — COVID won't last forever!! Thank you."
Sharing a snap on social media of the incredible surprise the owners wrote: "Wanted to share this extremely kind gesture from one of our guests last night. Our staff were over the moon. Thank you so much!
"The generosity that we have encountered over these hard past few months really is overwhelming. Thank you to everyone."
Bartender Phillip Scanlon, who was working behind the bar that night, told Fox 29 he was left “speechless” at the incredible show of support.
“He left an outrageous tip and wasn't just for me, but it was for everybody and with the darkness that's been going on it's nice to have some kind of light.”
