Irish pub delivers ultimatum to customers saying 'we won't be able to keep serving pints'

A popular Donegal pub has pleaded with customers to stop stealing pint glasses - or risk them not being able to serve pints anymore.

The Singing Pub made the plea on their Facebook page and urged people to heed their advice.

The post, now seen by thousands of people, reads: "f customers don't stop stealing glasses we seriously won't be able to keep serving pints"

Some customers suggested the business should start charging deposits on pint glasses.

One replied: "Charge a €3 rental and return the money when the glass comes back. Wee buns lad."

Another clever customer suggested: "Offer a pint glass amnesty…. Bring your pint glass back and get the last glass of the night free ( they will think it’s a free pint but when they come looking for last pint free tell them to take the glass home but they are barred unless they bring it back next time, and keep a record of all names and addresses."

The Downings pub has been seeing an influx of domestic tourists since they reopened last month and will be hoping the return of indoor dining will help business even further.
