Irish primary schoolkids urged to make recycled fashion designs for Junk Kouture Junior

Irish primary school children are urged to get in touch with their creative sides and make their own recycled fashion deisgn.

Popular fashion design and art contest , which is in its tenth year running, is now looking for aspiring young designers to get involved.

Junk Kouture Junior invites young fashionistas to create a 100% recycled design and educate themselves about sustainability in the process.

A downloadable handbook will be available online for primary schools and it includes a poster, tickets, invites and scoring sheet templates.

Kids participating can use these to run their own competition where they can show off their masterpieces to family and school friends.

Their creations will be showcased on Junk Kouture's platforms throughout the year.

The handbook is available for download from https://junkkouture.com/junior/.

Junk Kouture Junior was launched by former Miss Ireland Aoife O’Sullivan who is also a primary school teacher from Co Cork.

Aoife first got involved with Junk Kouture during her reign as Miss Ireland as she was invited to attend the 2019 Grand Finale in the 3Arena.

She even wore a Junk Kouture recycled dress to Cannes Film Festival.

She said: "I was blown away by the incredible talent and creativity of Irish students on show.

"I immediately fell in love with what Junk Kouture offers young students and so I jumped at the opportunity when I was asked to get involved with Junk Kouture Junior this year".

“For the first time ever, Junk Kouture is inviting primary school pupils to get involved in this All-Ireland recycled fashion contest.

"As a primary school teacher myself, I think this will be a really big hit in the classroom.

"This new competition will be run within schools as students create sustainable and recyclable masterpieces.”
