Irish priest wheels out of church on scooter after Christmas Eve mass in Dublin

Parishioners were in hysterics on Christmas Eve after a priest made full use of his new gift from Santa at the end of mass.

Fr Peter O'Connor was given the special present on Christmas Eve and was so excited he just had to show it off in front of a backed out church in South Dublin, reports Dublin Live.

Kids from the Ballyroan Parish in South Dublin may have had to wait until this morning for their own presents, but Fr Peter O'Connor was given special status and got his brand new scooter a day earlier than everyone else.

Brilliant footage taken by local  mass-goer Doug Leddin  shows Fr O'Connoer glide down the aisles in front of cheering kids in the packed-out church in Rathfarnham.

Howls and a huge applause can be heard as Fr O'Connor blissfully rolls down the aisle with his garments flowing in the breeze.

The clip has already massed hundreds of retweets and thousands of likes on Twitter.

People were loving the scenes and were quick to give light-hearted comments..
