Irish priest pays tribute to Liverpool and tells Man United fans to 'suck it up'

An Irish priest has paid tribute to Liverpool during mass, and also told Manchester United fans to “suck it up”.

The Reds are currently celebrating winning the Premier League title, and still have seven league fixtures left to play.

During mass in Mooncoin, Co Kilkenny, Ft Tobin celebrated Liverpool’s title triumph by playing the club’s anthem ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’.

Ft Tobin also paid tribute to his parishioners for their efforts during the coronavirus pandemic, which continues to cause harm across the globe, before playing his final hymn of the day which is familiar to Reds fans.

"These times have not been ordinary, they have been extraordinary,” Ft Tobin is quoted saying in the Irish Mirror.

"But you have also been extraordinary good, and for that I thank you.

"And for all the people from Liverpool or who support Liverpool, we are going to have our final hymn for you this morning and let the Man Uniteds, and the Man Citys, and the Chelseas, and all the rest of them, suck this up."

The remarks caused Liverpool fans to express their delight on social media.
