Irish player scoops €500,000 jackpot in Euromillions as National Lottery apologises to customers

A lucky Galway punter will soon be celebrating after winning a huge €500,000 in the Euromillions Plus draw.

While there was no winner of the overall prize – totalling a whopping €130 million – the Galway winner is unlikely to care.

They were the only winner of the Euromillions plus draw, and now take home a cool half-million to ease the pain of lockdown 3.0.

The winning numbers tonight were 07, 27, 30, 31 and 46.

While the westerner comes away with a whopping cheque, they were unable to find out about it via the National Lottery's website due to technical issues.

The National Lottery today apologised to customers after its app and website dropped due to difficulties online.

A message on the website – which is still down tonight despite the Galway win – reads: "While our retail partners are operating as normal, unfortunately we are experiencing some technical difficulties with our App and our website.

"We are working to fix this as quickly as we can. We are sorry for any inconvenience."
