Irish pharmacy giving out special 'subscriptions' to customers with lovely message

An Irish pharmacy is giving out special chocolate subscriptions to spread good will during the coronavirus pandemic.

Staunton's Pharmacy in Co Mayo are giving customers a club milk bar after visits to the local chemist along with a kind message.

Written on the bars is: "Community spirit will beat this virus. Social distancing, hand washing and keeping in touch with friends helps us to stay healthy.

"A little chat and a cuppa helps also! Relax and have a little break."

The image was shared on Reddit with the user praising the spot and the "lovely gesture".

The Mayo pharmacy has stayed open for the entirety of the pandemic supplying locals with their medical needs.

Welcoming their retail neighbours back earlier this week the owners posted on Facebook saying: "As we slowly reopen our doors to our beautiful country the team here at Stauntons Pharmacy wish to welcome our neighbouring businesses back.

"We would like to also thank you, our valued customers who have supported us during the last few months.

"Indoor shopping experiences have changed but can still be enjoyable and it is important now more than ever to shop local.

"Remember to maintain 2m physical distance whenever possible, wash hands or use hand sanitiser regularly, sneeze or cough into your elbow or tissue, wear a face covering while shopping."
