Irish passengers have been left pleasantly surprised by the vending machines at Italian airports.
The upmarket vending machines offer a range of different alcoholic drinks and some high-quality foods.
In a tweet, one passenger said: "Happy to report that the Italians have brought airport vending machine to a new level."
Along with the tweet were pictures that displayed bottles of wine and other drinks stored in what looked like a refrigerated vending machine.
Other users were amazed by the new style on vending machines, with one saying: “I saw that last month and it blew me away. Wine and quality food products just at the gate.
“Sure it might even be still cold by the time you touchdown.”
Another said: “More jealous now than at any other time this last fortnight. That is outstanding”.
It seems like vending machines may be the way of the future as one user pointed out that some shops no longer need staff to man them as they are just vending machines.
He said: “This reminds me of a small town I lived in Northwest Italy where there was a corner shop on the main street with just these vending machines, unmanned, open 24/7/365 with anything you would ever need.”

However, it seems that vending machines may not be the perfect way to sell some food products.
In May, Italy's capital Rome opened its first pizza vending machine that received mixed reactions from customers.
The machine takes just three minutes to deliver a pizza, and customers can choose which topping they want, including Margherita, bacon, four cheeses and spicy salami.
The machine can hold enough dough to make 100 pizzas and can be refilled when it runs out.
The pizza retails from €4.50 to €6 depending on the toppings.
Customers can also choose to add a drink to their order such as water, Fanta, Coca Cola, Sprite, beer or tea.
Many said the pizzas tasted okay but were nothing special.
But who can beat a freshly handmade Italian pizza?
