Irish mum finds bizarre 'super' spider with an 'S' written on its back in her home

A north Dublin mum had a strange encounter on Friday evening when she found a bizarre looking "super" spider in her home.

The spider - which is slightly bigger than a €2 coin - appears to have a huge S written on its back.

The writing looks incredibly similar to the logo Superman sports on his chest, Dublin Live reports.

The young mum joked: "I was tempted to let the spider bite me just to see if I would get super powers."

While that strategy may have helped Peter Parker become Spider-Man, it may not be an advisable course of action in real life.

On Friday, we revealed a dog had to be treated for a bite from a venomous Noble False Widow spider.

Sandycove Veterinary Clinic told how a client visited their premises with their pup - just a week after the owner herself suffered the same injury in almost the same spot.

The vet said: "One client brushed paths with this little guy on her travels in Killiney Hill in the last week and received quite a nasty looking bite on her leg, which swelled up massively and required urgent treatment.

"Today, her dog was bitten in the exact same spot on a walk.

"False Widow spiders have made Ireland their home in the past couple of years, they are venomous and their bites can be extremely painful."
