Irish media urged to adopt suicide guidelines

An Irish government minister yesterday urged journalists to adopt guidelines drawn up by the Samaritans when covering suicides. Tim O'Malley, the minister of state for mental health, warned of the dangers of detailed reporting that might lead to copy-cat behaviour. The guidelines can be found on the website of the Irish Association of Suicidology. (Via ias.ie)
