Irish McDonald's outlets set to reopen by mid-May, reports

McDonald's is reportedly hoping to re-open restaurants across Ireland in mid-May with a limited capacity.

The chains will re-open across Ireland and the UK with drive-throughs and deliveries, reports the Irish Farmer's Journal.

It's good news for beef farmers around the country, with two of every ten beef burgers sold across Europe made from Irish beef.

The closure of the restaurants caused a frenzy last month when huge queues gathered for their last chance to get a Big Mac before they closed their doors.

Seated areas had been closed for a week before the chain announced their drive-through services would also stop, causing huge tailbacks around the country.

Motorists were queuing for up to three hours this week in France after some drive-throughs re-opened in the country.

A McDonald's spokesman said the company couldn't comment on the reports.
