An Irish man passed away suddenly in Taiwan this week, it has been reported.
The 58-year-old died suddenly while walking along a side walk on Saturday evening in the city of Taipei.
Reports also state that the man later tested for Covid-19 upon being taken to hospital forcing a number of police officers who attended the scene into quarantine.
CCTV footage released by the Taipei City Police Department showed the man walking near the intersection of Kangding Road and Neijing Street in the Ximending area of Taipei's Wanhua District.
He reportedly wandered off the sidewalk and then began to stagger and seemed to try to run back to the sidewalk, before suddenly collapsing and lying motionless on the street, reports Taiwan News.
Bystanders who witnessed the man fall called the police and when officers arrived at the scene, they reportedly found that he was not breathing and had no pulse.
Despite efforts by paramedics to resuscitate the man, he died before they were able to reach the hospital.
Once at the hospital he was given a PCR test and he was diagnosed with COVID-19 that evening.
Ximending Police Station immediately sent the four officers who tended to the man into quarantine.
The man had reportedly been living in Taiwan for at least six years.
His cause of death is unknown and
