Irish mammy leaves drawer of cooked potatoes in fridge for husband as she heads on six day trip

One Irish mother has gone viral after she left a whole drawer of cooked potatoes for her husband before she headed away on a six day trip.

A woman took to Twitter to share a hilarious snap of the cooked potatoes neatly backed into the bottom drawer of the fridge.

She said: “My mam is going to London for six days and had left my dad an entire drawer of cooked spuds in the fridge”.

Many users responded to the tweet, recalling their own funny stories of dads being catered for while mothers were away.

One user said: “Just back from a 5 day trip to uk left himself with about 2 weeks worth of homemade dinners in the freezer plus everything he needed but to be fair he was painting all the ceilings while I was gone.”

The ceiling painting seems to be a trend as another said: “My mum does this for my dad (incidentally, also been ceiling painting this week) but he complains that he has to get the things out of the freezer in advance!”

People were blown away by the organisation of the immaculately clean fridge, with many responding that they would pay the Irish mother to organise their kitchen.

One user said: “Can your mum organise my life for me, I’ll pay, that fridge is perfect”.

Another said: “I was just going to say the same thing, that level of organisation is impressive.

"I generally just empty the shopping bag on to a shelf and hope it doesn't fall out what I open the door again!!"

The Tweet has since gathered over 7K likes and over 160 retweets and has been picked up by other pages who found the whole situation a great laugh.

The daughter of the spud leaving mother took to Twitter again on Friday, saying: "my bloody tweet about the potatoes has been picked up by an Instagram meme page with 1.5m followers and…the comments".
