Irish Love Island star Maura Higgins pays touching tribute to ‘hero’ on her late friend Andrew Rowan’s birthday

Maura Higgins paid a touching tribute to her ‘hero’ on her late friend Andrew Rowan’s birthday.

The Love Island favourite has opened up about the guilt she endured after he was killed in a motorbike accident hours after she turned down dinner plans with him in 2017.

She told the Mirror: “For so long, I used to think that if I had gone for dinner with him that day, when he had asked, he wouldn’t have been on that motorbike.”

Remembering him on his birthday this week, the Longford beauty shared a throwback image of her in her best pals arms in good times saying: “Happy Birthday to my hero.”

It comes as Love Island's Curtis Pritchard is predicted to ask Maura Higgins to be his wife in the next six months.

The projection was unveiled on Friday morning's instalment of This Morning during Irish native Maura's Love Ireland segment.

During the footage, the former grid girl, 28, met with Ireland's oldest matchmaker named Willie Dale.

Maura was quick to quiz cupid Willie on what type of man she would settle down with.

Happy to pass on his love knowledge, he responded: "In your case, tall, blonde hair and blue eyes and strong build."

Pleased that it sounded like he was descri

bing her beau Curtis, Maura gushed: "Sounds like my man already!"

Willie then continued went on to tell Maura that anyone who has "touched" his book has been in touch afterwards to say they are getting married.

Maura became giddy as she shared: "My boyfriend hasn’t actually told me he loves me yet so maybe if I place my hands on that lucky book."

Willie replied: "If you touch it with both hands and close your eyes for approximately eight seconds then you will be in love and married in six months."

Maura then joked: "The book has spoken - no pressure Curtis!"

The romantic fortune telling comes after Curtis opened up on why he has not asked Maura to move in with him yet.

Speaking exclusively to MirrorOnline, Curtis said that him and Maura are "fantastic" but they are not ready to move in with each other yet.

"We haven't had a conversation about moving in together or anything like that yet. It's good to take things slow", he insisted.

"You wouldn't usually move in together so soon - I've only known her for two and a half months!"

Curtis responded to cast mate Anna Vakili's claims that most of the Love Island cast are no longer speaking and "don't like each other".

Everyone is very busy, but I stay in contact with as many people as possible really", he said.

"I speak to the boys all the time - Chris, Michael, Anton, Callum. Some of the girls, like Molly Mae.

"But I'm with Maura, so I'm not going to stay in contact with the other girls too much. That's just the way I am."
