Irish lotto results: Unlucky punter is one number off life-changing €2.5 million jackpot

One player in Ireland had some incredibly bad luck in Saturday night's Lotto tonight as they just missed out on becoming a millionaire by one number.

The punter matched five out of six winning numbers as well as the bonus ball and scooped an impressive Match 5 + Bonus prize of €51,178.

However, as they failed to match all six numbers they missed out on the top prize of €2,439,924 - and there was no lotto winner.

The winning numbers drawn in Saturday night's Lotto were; 3, 4, 8, 40, 41, 44 and the bonus number was 12.

In total, over 89,000 players won prizes in the Lotto and Lotto Plus draws.

In the Lotto Plus 1 draw the numbers drawn were; 4, 13, 24, 29, 31, 46 and the bonus ball was 5.

There was no winner and the top prize of €1,000,000 went unclaimed.

In the Lotto Plus 2 the top prize of €250,000 also went unclaimed. The winning numbers drawn were; 2, 3, 15, 32, 33, 46 and the bonus number was 24.

Separately, the winning raffle ticket number called was: 9169. There were 85 winners of the Raffle Prize who will each win €500.
