Irish Lotto player's incredible quickpick ticket that almost secured Euromillions jackpot win

An Irish lotto player lost out on winning Friday night's Euromillions jackpot after the very last number didn't go their way.

A quick pick ticket matched all five of the first numbers and a lucky star, just needing one more lucky star to win the the monumental €206,564,757 jackpot on offer.

But when that number failed to go their way, the Monaghan player was left with a pretty nice consolation prize of €177,571.

The winning quick pick ticket was sold yesterday in the Spar shop at The Glen in Killygowan in Monaghan and the numbers for the draw were: 04, 12, 25, 46, 48 and lucky stars 07, 12.

The winning ticket holder is advised to sign the back of their ticket and to get in touch with the National Lottery claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to claim their prize.

While there were over 116,000 prize winners in Ireland in Friday night’s EuroMillions draw, there was no overall winner of the €206,564,757 jackpot on offer.

The jackpot for Tuesday night’s EuroMillions draw (23rd February) will now be capped at a life-altering €210 million making it Europe’s largest ever lottery prize. Since the EuroMillions game began in 2004, only four jackpots have reached the previous jackpot caps which were set at €190 million and more recently, €200 million.
