Irish jobs: Defence Forces are recruiting for a number of roles and ask previous service personnel to apply

The Defence Forces are currently looking for people to fill a number of roles, including general service and the reserve forces.

Even those who were previously service personnel in the Irish Defence Forces and may be interested in returning are being asked to apply.

Some of the requirements for the roles include fitness testing, and applicants must be over the age of 18 to apply.

There are also age limits for enrollment in certain roles, which vary depending on the position.

The Defence Forces are recruiting in the following areas:

  • General Service - Army & Naval Service
  • Air Corps Apprentice Aircraft Technician
  • Naval Service Direct Entry Chef
  • Reserve Defence Forces
  • Irish Naval Service Radio Radar Technician
  • Irish Naval Service Carpenter/Hull Artificer
  • Irish Naval Service Electrical Artificer
  • Direct Entry Engine Room Artificer Technicians (Marine/Mechanical)
  • Defence Forces Medical Officer
  • Naval Service Direct Entry Officers
  • Re-Enlistment Permanent Defence Forces
