Irish football fans will have to pay over €1,000 to watch every live Premier League game on TV

Irish football fans will have to splash out over €1,000 if they want to watch every live Premier League match on TV this season.

Sky TV customers are looking at a whopping €92 per month for their subscription to include - BT Sport 1, 2, 3, ESPN and Premier Sports 1 and 2.

This will allow fans to watch some 233 live Premier League games all in one package after Sky became the exclusive distributors of BT Sport and Premier Sport in Ireland.

The new sports pack which includes BT Sport and Premier Sports will be available to new & existing Sky Sports customers from August 1 for €10 extra a month. It is bad news for Eir broadband customers as they will no longer be able to avail of the BT Sports package free of charge with their plan.

The 'Sports Extra' package will set back Sky customers an extra €10 per month for the first six months, and then €20 thereafter.

Those who are not Sky Sports customers will have to pay €17 per month for the first six months, and then €34 thereafter.

This means that, after the initial offer expires after 6 months, Sky customers looking to avail of the package will pay €32 for the basic Sky package, €40 for Sky Sports and another €20 for the new 'Sports Extra' package - resulting in €92 per month.

The potential €1,104 per year package will also includes UEFA Champions and Europa League games, Serie A games, Eredivisie, Scottish FA Cup and Champions Cup Rugby courtesy of BT Sport and Premier Sport.

Sky Sports will also continue their exclusive coverage of certain GAA Championship games, UEFA Euro 2020 qualifiers, all 4 golf majors and more.

The new package will be available from August 1 and customers will be able to sign up online.
