Irish five-day Met Eireann forecast: Temperatures to plummet after wet start to week

Temperatures are set to plummet as low as -2C later this week once Ireland gets over a few very wet days.

Met Eireann has a yellow rainfall warning in place for just Clare which came into effect at 5am on Monday morning and will last 24 hours.

A weather advisory for much of the south and west of the country remains in place until Tuesday with a risk of flooding due to persistent heavy rain.

And once the wet spell ends it will be replaced by wintry conditions and sub-zero temperatures bringing severe frost and ice to parts of the country.
