Fans have taken to Twitter to voice their opinions and heartbreak over the finale of Normal People.
The smash hit series, based on the book of the same name by Sally Rooney, has been airing on RTE for the last six weeks.
People have become obsessed with the love story of teens Connell and Marianne as they navigated their way from school into college.

The finale touched a lot of hearts and of course people took to the internet to share their opinions on the show's much anticipated ending.
Twitter user Gillian said: "I've really enjoyed it but this finale is really frustrating me! Why is she pushing him away? It makes relationships seem like way too much effort."
Another fan Chris said: "The Normal People finale has got me sitting on the landing in the dark with sad acoustic covers of songs playing #NormalPeople "
Leesa added: "Even though I’ve read the book, I was not emotionally ready for that #NormalPeople season finale. I don’t think I’ve ever cried at a show as much. Absolutely beautiful."
For some people the emotional effect of the finale was too much.
