Irish family hit by double tragedy as parents-of-four both die from cancer within months of each other

An Irish community has been left devastated after a well-known couple both died from cancer within months of each other.

Padraig Clifford from Milltown in Co Kerry passed away on Tuesday after battling cancer.

His death came just five months after his wife Elaine tragically died from the same illness just one day before her 41st birthday.

The pair leave behind four sons, with the youngest only starting school in September, as the Kerryman reports.

Tributes have been pouring in for Padraig who ran his own power-washing business with his eldest son, Patrick.

The 46-year-old is being remembered as a "gentleman", with his family, friends and the local community heartbroken following his death.
